Research trip to New York
Wall Street is the epicenter of the most important stock exchange in the world. On the bank of the East River, the United Nations seek solutions on human rights and security policy issues. And the heart of Manhattan is not only home to the headquarters of the most important U.S. media, but also to the hippest museums and theatres.
Up to ten junior journalists dive into the financial and media capital of the world on their research trip to New York. Guided by a German national television journalist, they get to shake hands with stock exchange correspondents on Wall Street and speak to eyewitnesses of 9/11 at Ground Zero. At the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany – that’s where the German UN Ambassador has their office – these junior journalists participate in background discussions about the duties and responsibilities of the United Nations. Immediately afterwards: a look behind the scenes of the UN headquarters and an exclusive visit to German national television’s foreign correspondent studios.
The next winners of the young leaders journalism competition will soon make their way to New York!
Next date: May 18 – 22, 2023
As usual for junior journalists, former participants have reported live from New York city – have a look!
